Wendy Jo Gilbert

Wendy Jo Gilbert, 64, of Morocco, IN passed away January 25, 2025 at the Rensselaer Care Center. She was born in Illinois on July 19, 1960, the daughter of Harold Scott and Grace (Ehlers) Scott.

She married Donald Gene Gilbert on March 31, 1979 in Oak Forest, IL. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2020.

Wendy was an active member of Faith Baptist Church of Bourbonnais, IL, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed cooking from scratch, canning, gardening, and being with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children: Donny Gilbert, Isaiah (Crystal) Gilbert and Stephanie (Michael) Byers; and ten grandchildren: Sienna, Remi, Kaylie, Nathan, Christopher, William, Aria, Sirius, Wulfric and Lavender.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; three brothers: Harold, Randy and Gary; and her sister, Terry.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10 a.m. (CST) at Russell Chapel Cemetery in Morocco, IN. Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais, IL on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. (CST). Pastor Terry Anglea officiating. A dinner and fellowship will follow services at the church.
