Obituary for Betty Ann (Davis) Murphy Mashino DeSilva (Davis)

Betty Ann  (Davis) Murphy Mashino DeSilva (Davis)
Betty Ann (Davis) Murphy Mashino DeSilva, 84, of Morocco, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Rensselaer Care Center. She was born in Enos on January 18, 1931, daughter of the late George B. and Susan Elizabeth (Kiefer) Davis. She graduated from Morocco High School and was a lifelong Morocco resident.

Betty married James E. Murphy in 1949. He preceded her in death. She married Donald Mashino in 1955. He also preceded her in death. In 2002 she married Al DeSilva, and he survives.

Betty was a homemaker. She had worked in the meat department at Allen’s IGA in Morocco and also in the kitchen at North Newton High School. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and she loved to dance. In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending her winters with her husband in Englewood, Florida, where she was a member of the Fun Chorus of Englewood. She was a member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Morocco American Legion Post #146 Auxiliary.

Betty is survived by: her husband, Al DeSilva; one son, Ronald E. Murphy (wife: Phyllis); one daughter, Linda S. (Mashino) Lintner (husband: Steve); one sister, Judy Davis (husband: John); three grandchildren: Brad, Kirk and Quentin; and six great grandchildren: Kassie, Keagan, Kyle, Damien, Tyler, Jacob, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Mandy Lintner; a son, Jeff Gene Mashino; and her brother, Ronald Davis.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. at the Morocco First United Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Morocco First United Methodist Church or the Morocco American Legion Post #146 Auxiliary.
