Obituary for Bobby Riley

Bobby Riley, age 68 of Morocco, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 9, 2011 at his home. He was born in Evansville on July 3, 1943, son of the late John R. and Stella Mae (Belt) Riley. Bobby attended school in Marion, KY and graduated from Crittenden County High School with the class of 1961. In high school, he was a member of the Future Farmers of America for four years and the Conservation Club for three years. On June 1, 1963 in Morocco, he married Linda G. Banister. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 2008.

Bobby had been a resident of Morocco for over 40 years. He was a truck driver and the owner-operator of his own trucking company, Riley Trucking Co. until his retirement in July, 2010. Bobby loved being a truck driver, and often took his best friend Charlie, his Boston Terrier, on the road with him. Bobby enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he loved his family very much.

Bobby is survived by two sons: William John Riley of Morocco and Jeffrey Scott Riley of Lowell; seven grandchildren: Derek Michael Bradley and Matthew Todd Bradley, both of Rochester, IN, Sasha Kristine Miller of Missouri, Derek William Riley of Morocco, Joselyn Lucas of Crown Point, Cory Anthony Scott Riley of Morocco, and Tyler Nicole Rayburn of Pontiac, IL; two brothers: Gerald Everett Riley (wife: Joan) of Alexandria, IN and Jerry Nathan Riley (wife: Margie) of Guilford, IN; and four sisters: Barbara Marsee (husband: Gene) of Milan, IN, Carol Workman (husband: Dale) of Bright, IN, Phyllis Ann Swango of Milan, IN, and Sandy Jordan (husband: Bobby) of Sunman, IN. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, and his brother Kenneth Ray Riley.

Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel of Morocco. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel of Morocco. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Jasper County Home Health Care & Hospice.
