Obituary for Burnie Clemons

Burnie Clemons, 86, of rural Jasper County, passed away Wednesday morning, December 5, 2012, at the Rensselaer Care Center. Burnie was born in Kentucky on December 13, 1925, son of the late Bryan and Rose (Bailey) Clemons.

On March 17, 1945 Burnie married Audrey (Whitaker) Clemons. She preceded him in death on November 13, 1981. Burnie worked as a pipefitter for Local 597 for 45 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially playing cards with his grandson. Burnie lived his life by taking “one day at a time”. He had a big heart, and he will be greatly missed by his family.

Burnie is survived by four children, Barbara (Terry) Wireman of Wheatfield; Linda Sizemore of Medaryville; JoAnn (Andrew) Woudema of Winamac; and John (Tina) Clemons of Francesville. Four sisters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter; two sons; three brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. (CST) at the Goodway Baptist Church, 14065 W. 400 N, northeast of Medaryville. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. (CST) at Goodway Baptist Church with Pastor James Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Memorials are suggested to the family. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements.
