Carol Dawson, age 79 of Morocco, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Franciscan St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point. She was born in Springfield, IL on September 9, 1932, daughter of the late Erwin Bohler and Trulalee (Dinsmore) Bohler. She was a lifelong area resident.

Carol graduated from Morocco High School with the class of 1950. On January 27, 1951, in Morocco, she married her husband of over 60 years, Dale Dawson. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2011.

Carol was a homemaker. She attended the Mt. Zion Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed camping, quilting, reading, and refinishing old furniture.

Carol is survived by her loving family: three sons: Jake Dawson (wife: Brenda), Bob Dawson (wife: Valerie), and Tom Dawson (wife: Eileen), all of Morocco, and her sister Barbara Jean Heuer of Everett, WA. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until noon at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel of Morocco. Funeral Services are scheduled for noon at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Snell and Pastor Larry Klingler officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
