Charles “Charlie O” O’Dell Hall, 76, of Goodland, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday evening, June 3, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in Spruse Pine, AL May 10, 1938, the son of the late Denzil Nile and Lucile (Bray) Hall. Charlie-O served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959. On Feb. 16, 1970, in Watseka, IL, he married his wife of 44 years June Ann (Yoder) Hall.
Charlie O was a self-employed carpenter and co-owner of CDL Wholesale for 20 years. He also operated a grater and maintained the roads at Fair Oaks Dairy Farm and operated a manure lagoon boat for Skyline Ag Services. He was a member of Victorious Life Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing and he loved to fish.
Charlie O is survived by his loving family: wife June Hall of Goodland; two sons: Larry Hall of Goodland and Jason Hall (wife: Teona) of Brook; two daughters: Tammy Clukaj (husband: Pia) of Rensselaer and Stacey Ingram (husband: James) of Goodland; daughter-in-law Shelly Hall of Goodland; one sister, Louvana Wilodene Smith of Chicago, IL; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, three brothers: James, Vernon and Warren; one sister, Katherine; and one son, Charles Denzil Hall.
Friends may call on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Melvin Lane officiating.
