Obituary for Dale Brunton

62 year old, Dale D. ‘Chunk’ Brunton of Parr, passed away December 29, 2012 at his home.

On April 18, 1950, Dale was born to I. Deane & Arlene (nee: Kellner) Brunton in Rensselaer, Indiana. He had lived in Parr for over 59 years.

Dale graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 1968, and Michigan State University in 1970 with an Associates Degree in Elevator Management. Dale was an assistant manager of Parr Elevator from 1970-1985. He had worked for Steinke Funeral Home since 1987. He was a licensed insurance agent for health and life insurance and had been a Pre-Need Funeral Specialist since 1989. Dale was also a Notary Public for the State of Indiana. He had been affiliated with the Steinke Funeral Home in Rensselaer and Morocco for over 25 years. He was an EMT and Supervisor with Prompt Ambulance Service in Rensselaer since 2005. Dale had been a Medico-legal Death Investigator and Deputy Coroner for Jasper County since 1999 and Newton County since 2004. Dale was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Rensselaer.

Dale is survived by: mother: Arlene (John) Lonergan, brother: Rick (Karen) Brunton, nieces: Denise (Justin) Sorber, & Tiffany Brunton, many relatives and many, many friends.

Friends are invited to visit with family and friends at the Jasper County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Services will take place at the fairgrounds at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 with Rev. Benjamin Hertel officiating. Interment will follow services at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rensselaer.

In lieu of flowers donations in Dale’s memory may be made to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
