Obituary for Donald Moore

Donald R. “Donnie” Moore, age 70 of rural Rensselaer passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Donnie was born in Rensselaer on April 30, 1940, son of the late Orval R. and Helen Elaine (Evion) Moore.

Donnie was a lifetime area resident. He was educated at the Rensselaer Public Schools and was a brick mason with Hamstra Builders for over 30 years. He was a member of the Brushwood Methodist Church and the Gold Miners Association having served as former Vice President. Donnie enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales to collect antiques.

Surviving are sons, Jeff (wife Tammi) Moore and Richard “Richie” Moore (friend Tina McCord); former wife Donna (Torbet) Moore; step-mother Mary M. Moore all of Rensselaer; brothers, Orville (wife Jeanette) Moore of Reynolds, Victor (wife Barbara) Moore, Paul (wife Pat) Moore; and sister Elaine (Mrs. Rodney) Lewis all of Rensselaer. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Preceding Donnie in death were his parents and a sister, Marge Weems.

Friends may call at the Community Building at the Jasper County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 2:00 P.M. until time of services at 7:00 P.M. Cremation will follow the services. Interment will be at Smith Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Jasper County Fair Association.
