Obituary for Dorothy Malott

Dorothy M. Malott, age 73 of rural Rensselaer passed away Friday morning, September 18, 2009 at Rensselaer Care Center. She was born May 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jewel (Basewell) Glenn and had lived her entire life in Newton, Lake and Jasper Counties. She was educated at the Morocco and North Newton Schools. On July 12, 1980 she married James Malott. He survives. For six years she worked in production for Intec of Morocco and had been a homemaker. Surviving along with her husband, Jim are a son, Jack (Tina) Childers of Willow Branch, Indiana and two daughters, Susan (Paul) Noble of Goodland, Indiana and Judith (Wayne) Stearns of Lake Station, Indiana. A sister-in-law, Pearl Glenn of Lake Village survives along with 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother and a grandson. Friends may call Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 4 until 7 P.M. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 21st at 10:00 A.M. at Steinke Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Lane officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Morocco.
