Obituary for Ellis Lee Hedden

Ellis Lee Hedden, 68, of Remington, passed away at his home Sunday evening, Nov. 2, 2014. He was born in Shelbyville, KY on June 16, 1946, son of the late William Thomas Hedden and Carrie Mae (McAllister) Hedden. He had been a resident of Jasper County for the past 27 years.

On Feb. 14, 1992, in Rensselaer, Ellis married Michele (Liedtky) Hedden, and she survives. He was a car hauler for Jack Cooper Transport and was a former firefighter for the Louisville, KY Fire Dept. Since his retirement, he worked part-time for Wilson Fertilizer. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a member of Suburban Masonic Lodge #740 in Louisville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Ellis is survived by his loving family: wife Michele Hedden of Remington; three sons: Tommy Hedden of Louisville, KY, Joshua (Dayna) Hedden of Westfield, IN, and Justin (Trisha) Hedden of Rensselaer; two daughters: Theresa Orange and Sherry Morsey; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 from 3-8 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Chaplain Bob Rawlins officiating.
