Let us choose to remeber the times we shared together that gave us laughter, kindness, inspiration, and an example for us to follow. Our family is sorry for the loss of a true gentleman. Elmer Jay gave so much to everyone he encountered. You could count on him to do his best, no matter the task at hand . He was special to me, because, he accepted me for who I was, the good and the bad. He had the misfortune of visiting our home, and little did we know, there was another visitor. Our cat had delivered a mole in our home, and upon discovering this unwelcome creature, I became upset. Recalling Elmer Jay, patiently trying to capture this frightened creature, meanwhile, trying to calm my hysterical nature, he somehow managed to catch the critter(with a bucket), and kindly relocated it to the woods behind our home. I am sure, he would have liked to relocate me! Although, I make light of this memory, there are many times he was there to help our family with sound advise, understanding, and the wonderful feeling that he wanted to share time together, thus, these memories. I could write on and on, there are some really good stories! We almost capsized him on our boat. He laughed the entire time, and did not have a life preserver on! His companionship provided to my mother, was a blessing. He knew what true friendship required, and he was dutiful, to say the least. I know, that we all miss him, and will always miss him. Until we meet again, may he be surrounded with peace and love in heaven.
