Emil M. Goad, 82 of Rensselaer passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at Rensselaer Care Center. Emil was born Feb. 18, 1928 in Remington, son of the late James and Nancy E. (Webb) Goad. Emil was a lifetime Jasper County resident and was the Petroleum Plant Manager at Jasper County Farm Bureau for over 41 years, retiring in 1985. Emil attended Rensselaer Schools and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. On July 5, 1952 in Fowler, he married Rena M. Holcomb. She survives. Emil was a member of the American Legion Post #29 and the Forty & Eight Voiture Locale #1251. Children are Steven W. Goad of Nesbit, MS and Emily S. (Mrs. Jeff) Farley of West Lafayette, IN. There are 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren surviving. Emil was the last surviving sibling. Friends may call at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. (Rensselaer Time). Funeral services are Tuesday, Sept. 28th at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Kenin Smith officiating. Interment follows at Weston Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Post #29 or the Forty & Eight.
