Obituary for Georgia Wireman

Georgia Wireman, age 96, of rural Rensselaer passed away late Tuesday evening, April 12, 2010, just minutes away from her 97th birthday. Georgia was born April 13, 1913 in Salyersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Minnie (Banks) Joseph. She has lived in Jasper County since 1948, coming here from Kentucky. In 1931 she married Simon Wireman, Sr. He died June 9, 2006. She worked for many years at Jasper-Pulaski Nursery, worked in Housekeeping at Our Lady of Holy Cross Nursing Facility in SanPierre and was a homemaker. Georgia was a faithful member of the United Baptist Church of Gillam Township. She was a great person to know and loved all her children and family very much. Surviving children are: Roscoe (Beverly) Wireman, Charles (Barbara) Wireman, Donald Eugene Wireman, Josephine (Farish) Wireman, and Janice (Homer) Wireman, all of Rensselaer; Carl Wireman and Ethel Cleary, both of North Judson; and Clayton (Linda) Wireman of DeMotte. She also has many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren who survive. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son, 2 daughters, 2 nephews, 3 grandsons, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 4 until 7:00 P.M. at Steinke Funeral Home in Rensselaer. Funeral services will be Friday, April 16th at 10:00 A.M. at United Baptist Church of Gillam Township, Pastor Johnnie Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery.
