Obituary for John Rush

John F."Jack" Rush, 75, of Brook, passed away early Monday morning, Oct. 1, 2012 at his home. He was born in Morocco Nov. 11, 1936, son of the late William and Rose (Hoon) Rush. A graduate of Morocco High School, he married Edwina Brandenburg on Oct. 31, 1959. She preceded him in death in 1973.

Jack served his Country in the U.S. Army Airborne as a member of the Parachute Team. He was a former volunteer fireman and worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Six Sigma Mold in Morocco, retiring in 2000. Jack attended the United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Hazelden Country Club.

Jack is survived by his five children, Karin Keene of Phoenix, AZ, Gregory Rush (wife: Kelli) of Anchorage, AK, Michael Rush of Phoenix, AZ, John Rush (wife: Lynnette) of Rensselaer, and Sandy Rush of Austin, TX; two brothers, William Rush of Rensselaer and Ron Rush of Morocco; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edwina, and his brother Dennis.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco, Rev. Greg Waggoner officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
