Obituary for Joseph Parrish

Joseph Clark Parrish of Rural Rensselaer, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Jasper County Hospital. Clark was born August 31, 1927, in Ripley County Indiana, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Murphy) Parrish. He was raised in the Morocco area, attended the Morocco public schools and graduated in 1945. Clark worked for Shumacher Corporation from 1968 till the 2001 closing of the plant. He then began a career as a truck driver until retiring in September 2008 for health reasons. Clark served his country in the U.S. Navy on the Air Craft Carrier, Henry A. Wiley.
Clark is survived by his wife Sharon (Snow) Parrish of Rensselaer, two sons: Christopher Parrish and Randy (Andrea) Parrish, one daughter: April Parrish. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
Two nieces also survive: Kathleen and Beth Rotert. Clark is preceded in death by one daughter Vicky Gulley, his parents and a sister Elsa Mae Parrish-Yoder-Wilson.
Memorials may be made to the family in Clark's memory.

Memorial Services will be Saturday July 10 in Rensselaer at the Steinke Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Brother Russell Morris officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Prater Cemetery, Jasper County, at a later date.
