June L. Lock, 79, of Monon, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. She was born March 9, 1930 in Christman, Illinois a daughter of the late William Herman and Mabel (Pine) Carpenter. She had lived in Newton and Lake Counties, moving to Monon in 1972. She married Emory “Murrell” Lock on July 1, 1950 in Kentland, Indiana. He survives. Prior to her retirement she had been a waitress. Surviving are daughter Mary Louise (Mrs. Robert) Willoughby of Rensselaer; sons, William Edward (wife: Jolene) Lock of Monon, and Larry Lee (wife: Dana) Lock of North Judson. Siblings surviving are Marion “Don” (wife: Edey) Carpenter of Valparaiso, IN, Dale Lee (wife: Pat) Carpenter of Veedersburg, IN., Jean Blievernicht of Cedar Lake, IN. and Beverly (Mrs. Robert) Ballard of Pekin, Oklahoma. 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren survive. Preceding her in death were her parents, 1 brother, 5 sisters, 1 son and 2 daughters. Friends may call at Steinke Funeral Home, 403 N. Front St., Rensselaer from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. (Rensselaer time) on Friday, July 24, 2009. Funeral services will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Saturday, July 25th at 9:30 A.M. (Rensselaer time) Rev. Royal Voeller officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Morocco. Memorials are suggested to that of donor’s choice.
