Obituary for Kenneth Risner

KENNETH H. RISNER, age 74 of Rensselaer passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at his home. He was born in Rensselaer on June 23, 1935, son of the late Bill and Emma Jean (Bailey) Risner. He was educated at the Jasper County Public Schools. He had lived in California for 38 years returning to the Rensselaer area 10 years ago. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed as a car salesman, then worked for Labor Union Local #41 in Hammond, retiring in 2000. Surviving are two daughters: Rhea Burke of Rensselaer and Desirae Risner of Kouts, IN. Brothers surviving are: Delbert Risner (wife, Phyllis) of Murfreesboro, TN and Bill Risner (wife, Crystal) of Rensselaer. Surviving sisters: Joyce Patterson of California, Melba Rose Payne (Mrs. Bob) of Valparaiso, Mary Lou Risner of Anderson, IN, Peggy Tripp (Mrs. Jesse) of Humble, TX, Kathy Olson (Mrs. Roger) of Kouts, IN and Janet Hamacher (Mrs. Byron) of Mishawaka, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Aldean Watson and Betty Lee, brother, Stanley Bruce Risner, and grandson, Zachery Harris Risner. Friends may visit at Steinke Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 20th from 9 A.M. until time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Family suggests Memorials be made to the donor’s choice. Interment will be at a later date at Barkley Cemetery in Jasper County.
