Larry Whiting, Jr., age 62 of Lake Village passed away at his home March 2, 2010. He was born August 2, 1947 in Halsburg, KY, son of the late Lawrence Kay Whiting, Sr. and Sophia (Richie) Whiting. He was educated in the Kentucky Public Schools and has lived in the Lake Village, IN area since 1964, coming from Kentucky. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. On June 25, 1983 in Lake Village, he married Deborah (Matheny). Larry had been employed as a heavy machinery mechanic for over 20 years, retiring from International Bridge in 1993. He was a former member of American Legion, loved fishing, motorcycles and working on old cars. Surviving with Deborah are children: Bobbi (Mrs. Kevin) Blanton of Demotte; Jodie Whiting of Lake Village, Ernie (wife, Tina) Collard of Lake Village, Larry Whiting, III of St. John, IN., Michael Whiting of Crown Point, and Gayle Whiting of LasVegas, NV. 5 grandchildren survive. Preceding him in death were his parents and 2 sisters. Friends may call at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel in Morocco, Saturday, March 6th from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at 1:30 P.M., Rev. Fred Zaugg officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Village Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family.
