Obituary for Lisa List McGill

Lisa Kay List McGill, age 44 of Anna, Illinois, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born in Rensselaer on April 25, 1967, daughter of Sharon List and the late Edgar Dallas List. Lisa grew up in Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the class of 1985. She went on to attend Indiana State University and IVY Tech.

Lisa worked at Schumacher Electric Co. and also for NIPSCO in security before moving to southern Illinois in 1999. While living in Rensselaer, she attended Bethany Evangelical Free Church. Lisa enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was especially proud of her two children: Shawn and Alisha. Lisa will be remembered fondly for her laughter and her beautiful smile.

Lisa is survived by her loving children: Shawn McGill and Alisha McGill of Harrisburg, Illinois; husband Scott McGill of Harrisburg Illinois; mother Sharon List of Rensselaer; brother John List of Orlando, Florida; two sisters: Lori Burns (husband: Wally) of Greenwood, Indiana and Jennifer Duffey (husband: Patrick) of Monticello. Six nieces and nephews also survive: Rachel Burns, Emily Burns, Sarah Burns, and Samuel Burns, all of Greenwood, Indiana, and Caroline Duffey and Isla Duffey of Monticello. Lisa was preceded in death by: her father Edgar Dallas List, her paternal grandparents Edgar C. List and Lula Payne List, and her maternal grandparents Alvin Lilley and Donola Green Lilley.

Friends may call Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. CST at the Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fred Nose officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer. A Memorial Service for Lisa will be held in Anna, Illinois at a later date. Memorial donations in Lisa's memory may be made to the family.
