MARTIN J. SZCZEPANSKI, SR., age 70 of Lake Village passed away June 26, 2010 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point. He was born January 10, 1940 in Calumet City, IL a son of the late Frank and Adeline (Pollack) Szczepanski. He graduated from Thornton Fractional North High School and was married to Mary Agnes Everly. She preceded him in death. Martin had lived in Lake Village since 1978 coming from Lake County Indiana. He worked for the Steel Mills for 22 yrs., then worked in maintaince at St. Joseph College for 6 yrs before becoming the owner/operator of Sun Aura Campground. Surviving are children, Barbara (Mrs. Dale) Beverly of Rochester, IN, Deborah (Mrs. Jim) Mathews and Martin (wife, Diane) Szczepanski, Jr. both of Morocco. His special friend Colleen Klotz of Lake Village survives along with 2 brothers, Frank (wife, Ginger) Szczepanski of Ocean Springs, MS and Jimmie (wife, Debbie) Szczepanski of Crown Point. There are 8 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, a daughter and a brother. Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Martin’s memory may be made to donor’s choice. Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel of Morocco is handling the arrangements.
