Obituary for Rastus Luttrell

Rastus B. Luttrell, 82 of Winamac passed away unexpectedly July 23, 2010 at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville. He was born September 30, 1926, son of the late Everett and Lula (Luttrell) Luttrell. Mr. Luttrell had lived in the Winamac area for over 42 years. He had been employed for over 40 years with Morris Holley of Kentland in bridge construction, retiring in 1989. He attended the Apostolic Bible Church in Rensselaer. On June 19, 2009, he married Monna (Losh) Johnson and she survives. Surviving are children: David (wife, Paula) Luttrell of Austin, IN, Lou (Mrs. Albert) Cooper of Winamac, Sandy Schultz of Southerland, Virginia and Grace Carter of North Judson. Stepchildren surviving are: Jackie (Mrs. James) Kain of Medaryville and Rita (Mrs. Rick) Payne of Winamac. 4 brothers survive: Henry Luttrell of Mt. Ayr, Albert (wife, Faye) Luttrell of Goodland, Curtis (wife, Peggy) Luttrell of Liberty, KY and Ray Leonard Luttrell of Rensselaer. There are 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. Preceding him in death were his parents, first wife, Donna, a son, 3 sisters, a grandson and a stepson. Visitation will be at Steinke Funeral Home in Rensselaer on July 26, 2010 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 P.M. (Rensselaer Time) then from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Apostolic Bible Church, 220 Franklin Street, Rensselaer. Funeral service is at 1:00 P.M. (Rensselaer Time), Tuesday, July 27th at the Apostolic Bible Church with Pastor Robert Viles officiating. Interment follows at Koster Cemetery on 200 S, East of Francesville.
