Richard L. Martin of Morocco passed away at home on Thursday, March 31, 2011. He was born to Katherine and Robert Martin on March 29, 1939. On April 12, 1959 he married Grace Hammelman.

He was employed by the Town of Morocco for 18 years. Formerly he owned the Downtown Texaco in Morocco. Richard was an avid fan of racing, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dick Potts.

Surviving along with his wife Grace are three daughters, Brenda (Dave) Mayotte of Watseka, IL, Holly (Rick) Goddard of Morocco, Val Juhl (fiancé Bob Dawson) of Morocco, his mother Kate Rains of Brook, two brothers, Jerry Martin of Florida and Ron (Donna) Martin of Rensselaer, a sister, Joyce (Dick) Neibert of Morocco, and 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth, father (Robert), step-father (Grady), and brothers Bob Martin and Owen Martin.

Visitation will be held at Steinke Funeral Home Brunton Chapel on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 4-8 P.M. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Jack Snell officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Vine Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
