Obituary for Robert Brant

Robert Martin Brant, age 86 of Rensselaer, passed away Tuesday morning, August 2, 2011 at his home. He was born in Salamanca, New York on March 12, 1925, son of the late Arthur Paul Brant and Ruth Mildred (Kelly) Brant.

On April 21, 1949 he married Dorothy Marie Brown. She preceded him in death on December 10, 2007.

Robert spent most of his life in Western New York and moved to Rensselaer about six years ago. He graduated from Little Valley High School and Alfred University. Robert was an engineer and had worked for Bordens as well as Cattaraugus County, NY. He was also an assessor for the State of New York. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklinville, NY. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and had been a Boy Scout Leader. He loved fishing, hunting and bowling.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Deb Parmele (husband: Scott) of Rensselaer; two sons, Arthur Brant of Franklinville, NY and Christopher Brant (wife: Bonita) of Round Rock, TX; a sister, Bette Chappel of Utah; and a brother, Bill Brant (wife: Shirley) of Traverse City, MI. Seven grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at a later date in Franklinville, NY.
