Obituary for William Leroy "Bill" Boothroyd Jr.

William Leroy "Bill"  Boothroyd Jr.
William Leroy “Bill” Boothroyd, Jr., 43, of Rensselaer, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at his home. He was born in Lebanon, IN, Oct. 26, 1971, the son of William Boothroyd, Sr. and the late Barbara Viles. Bill graduated from Westfield Washington High School with the Class of 1991. He went on to study auto mechanics at Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis.

On Aug. 6, 1994, in Rensselaer, Bill married Amy (Wilkerson) Boothroyd. He was an HVAC technician and he enjoyed woodworking, coloring, collecting Hot Wheels and model Corvettes.

Bill is survived by his loving family: wife Amy Boothroyd of Rensselaer; one son, Jacob Boothroyd of Rensselaer; two daughters: Haley Boothroyd (fiancé: Caleb Sheets) of Rensselaer and Emily Boothroyd (fiancé: Philip Watkins) of Rensselaer; father William Boothroyd, Sr. (wife: Marie) of Columbia City, IN; four brothers: Phillip Boothroyd, Don Boothroyd (wife: Stephanie) of Elwood, IN, Shawn Boothroyd (girlfriend: Jen Hagar) of Ft. Wayne, and William Boothroyd of Ft. Wayne; one sister, Sherry Gillenwater (husband: Mike) of Westfield; Amy’s parents: Rich and Sue Ludington of Rensselaer; brothers-in-law: Brian Ludington of Rensselaer, Todd Ludington (wife: Kristy) of Rensselaer and Eric Ludington (wife: Christina) of Whitestown, IN; several nieces and nephews; and one grandson on the way. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Barbara Viles; his step-father, Carroll “Hollywood” Walls; and his grandparents.

Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 from 2:30-6:30 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Larry B. Hansen officiating. Per Bill's wishes, cremation will follow.
