Obituary

Vivian Ida Hall, 74, of Rensselaer, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 11, 2020. She was born July 27, 1946, in Gary, Indiana to the late Murray and Ruth McCoy. Vivian was very proud to be part Cherokee Indian on her father’s side.

She was a 1964 graduate of Calumet High School, where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad.

She worked for over 30 years as a paralegal for the Walter J. Alvarez Law Firm in Crown Point, Indiana. She moved to Rensselaer, Indiana 20 plus years ago and retired due to illness.

She married the love of her life, Corky Hall, in 1979. They enjoyed over 40 wonderful years together. Vivian had a real passion for horses. Corky affectionately called her “The Horse Whisperer” for her innate ability to communicate with and calm even the wildest of horses. She loved bareback riding and never met a horse she couldn’t tame.

Vivian loved flowers and joyfully sang to high Heaven for her Lord. She was vibrant, genuine, and a true heart in everything that she did. She was a blessed Christian woman with a vibrant smile that would light up a room. She never met a stranger.

She is survived by her loving husband, Corky Hall of Rensselaer; son Michael (Melissa) Hall of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughter Julia Hall of DeKalb, Illinois; two brothers, Murray (Joyce) McCoy of Branson, Missouri and Tim (Cathy) McCoy of Crown Point; and dear friends Vince and Angie Urbano, and their children Ava, Brynlee, and Layne.

She was preceded in death by her son, Troy Warrens, and her parents.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, September 21, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with Chaplain Rob Dorow officiating. Burial will follow at Crockett Cemetery. Steinke Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.

Mom we miss you so much, Carol and I and your granddaughter Jennifer and husband Charlie are just at a loss and devastated here at all this. And your wonderful Great granddaughters Haley, Abigail, Madison, And Emily wanted to say they love you dearly and they will miss your smiles , your hugs and kisses. Little Haley asked her papa the other night to try not to be sad and cry because Great grandma doesn't have to be sick anymore and she gets to be with uncle troy again so please don't be sad papa. Mom that is how wonderful you were you put your love and smiles and kind heart in all of us, we will never forget you or let you leave our hearts no matter what or who try's. also mom a few years back you had me make you a few promises that were very dear and special to you, mom I'm praying for help and guidance and help to fulfill those promises, I'm trying mom please just watch over us and help us all love again and put the Hate and Hurt away. We love you Mom.

Mom my heart is just broken I am so lost right now I just feel empty inside, Mom you held me tight when I was little guy, you showed me how to laugh, love and how to grieve, sure could use your words and hugs right now, Mom you taught me how to be kind, gentle and always put others first, you taught me that making others smile and happy would make me happy. Mom you taught me how to dance and sing in the rain how to walk and how to run, you taught me how to love and how to loose and how to feel and deal with heart break, Mom you showed me how to love life and cherish the little things and the special moments and not take life to serious. But most of all mom you showed me how to become the Man, Husband, Father and Grandfather and friend I am today. I know as I lay my head down tonight and try not to cry myself to sleep your in a better place, But mom I also know I'll wake up tomorrow and the next day and you won't be here. I can't imagine what life is going to be like without you, I love you so much and I will never ever let you leave my heart, I promise you I will always make you so proud and happy mom, I will smile and send kisses to the heavens each morning and hugs at night. Please mom always always watch over me and show me how to smile again soon, I love you so much Mom love your son Jody
